How Samagra Foundation Aligns with 7 UN Sustainable Development Goals: A Deep Dive

In today’s rapidly evolving world, sustainable and inclusive development isn’t just a goal—it’s a necessity. At Samagra Foundation, we believe that true social transformation requires structured, measurable, and global thinking. That’s why our work is deeply aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—a universal blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by 2030.

In this blog, we explore how Samagra Foundation actively contributes to Ten key SDGs, turning global commitments into grassroots action.

🎯 1. SDG 1: No Poverty

Poverty is more than a lack of income—it's a lack of opportunity. At Samagra, we address poverty by providing:

  • Free skill training programmes for youth (18–30 years) from low-income backgrounds
  • SHG (Self-Help Group) capacity building for women to launch income-generating activities
  • Microfinance literacy and placement support, ensuring sustained livelihoods

Impact: Over 1,500 women and 600+ youth have transitioned from financial instability to self-sufficiency.

🎯 2. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being

Access to affordable healthcare, especially for underserved populations, remains a challenge. Samagra responds through:

  • Samagra Ayurveda Clinics offering Panchakarma, Suvarnaprashan, and pain management therapies
  • Janarogya Initiative - Yearly family Support For registered beneficiaries Based on No Profit No loss
  • AyurAI - Promotes preventive healthcare through Ayurveda and medicinal plant awareness.
  • Mental health counseling for LGBTQIA+ individuals and trauma-affected youth
  • HIV testing, home reunification, and health camps in slum areas

Impact: Thousands have benefitted from holistic, nature-based healthcare in both urban and rural communities.

🎯 3. SDG 4: Quality Education

We believe that education is the strongest tool for empowerment. Our efforts under SDG 4 include:

  • ShikshaSetu Project – certified online courses in digital productivity
  • Scholarship Access Programme – connecting students with scholarships
  • Pathsala Learning Centres – bridge education for school dropouts and children rescued from begging or trafficking
  • AyurAI - Quality Education Provides learning opportunities on Ayurveda, ecology, and plant conservation for students and the public.

Impact: 3,000+ youth enrolled in digital courses and thousands more gained access to continued education.

🎯 4. SDG 5: Gender Equality

Samagra champions inclusion for all genders through:

  • Training and business support for women-led SHGs
  • Counseling and rights awareness for LGBTQIA+ individuals
  • Safe learning spaces for adolescent girls through Vinaya and Jidnyasa programmes

Impact: Gender empowerment isn't just a side goal—it’s embedded in every initiative we take.

🎯 5. SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

In a nation where youth unemployment is high, our solution is targeted and practical:

  • 100-hour skill courses for the service, retail, and finance sectors
  • Job placement support through NGO–corporate partnerships
  • Entrepreneurship training for SHG members
  • AyurAI - Generates green jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities in nursery, plantation, and product development.

Impact: Our livelihood programmes bridge the gap between learning and earning, with hundreds placed annually.

🎯 6. SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

We work with those who are most often left behind—LGBTQIA+ individuals, Person with Disabilities, slum children, tribal youth, and school dropouts. We reduce inequality by:

  • Offering equal access to health, education, and skills
  • Creating culturally sensitive and accessible content
  • Partnering with institutions to build inclusive systems

Impact: Social justice and equity are not separate goals—they are the foundation of our model.

🎯 7. SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

  • Encourages eco-friendly production of herbal products and sustainable use of natural resources.

🎯 8. SDG 13: Climate Action

  • Reduces carbon footprint through tree plantation and enhances climate resilience.

🎯 9. SDG 15: Life on Land

  • Conserves biodiversity by protecting and cultivating endangered and native medicinal species.

🎯 10. SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

We know we can't do this alone. That’s why we collaborate with:

  • Grassroot Organisations, Community based organisations, Scholarship Portals, CSR partners, Implementing Partners and local governments – to scale impact and co-create solutions

Impact: Collaboration fuels innovation. With the right partners, we reach deeper and scale faster.

🌍 Conclusion: Think Global, Act Local

At Samagra Foundation, SDGs aren’t just a framework—they are a promise. A promise to reach the unreached, to empower the invisible, and to transform development into a shared responsibility.

Whether it’s a student learning AI in a remote village or a mother leading an SHG to support her family—our actions, however small, are aligned with a global mission to leave no one behind.
